The Finished Product:

The Red Lake Fire Hall is a 10,000 sq. ft. pre-engineered metal building with 4-vehicle bays that is attached to a wood frame office structure including offices for fire personnel, a fitness center, gear turnout room, decontamination shower room, training room, a kitchen, and men and women’s bunk rooms. The project has received an Excellence in Design Award from the American Buildings Company.

Donlar’s Role:

Donlar Construction served as general contractor on the project, and we managed 20+ subcontractors while self-performing carpentry and concrete.  Donlar Construction worked closely with tribal members from the area and utilized their skills and talents on the project to help us finish the project on time and on budget.

Maintaining a Safe Worksite:

Donlar Construction considers safety to be a top priority, and we took appropriate safety measures that help keep our staff and our subcontractors safe on site. We held daily job hazard analysis meetings with our foremen, and every new worker on-site received a site orientation from our superintendent, informing them of all safety protocol on site. We also held weekly toolbox talks to review safety best practices, look for ways to improve, and celebrate our safety achievements on site. Additionally, due to an influx of new staff on site, we hosted several educational luncheons to ensure that everyone on site was equipped with the knowledge to operate safely and effectively.
