We at Donlar Construction are saddened to announce the recent passing of Donald A. Kainz. Don was a co-founder of Donlar Construction; He is the “Don” in “Donlar”. He is the father of Jon Kainz who is now the Principal in Charge as well as second-generation owner of Donlar. Don’s daughter Beth serves as Donlar’s Marketing Manager.
Those that had the pleasure of making Don’s acquaintance were always greeted with a firm handshake. A chance to visit with him left you knowing he was an honest, genuine, trustworthy, down to earth individual with a wry sense of humor. Don was a quiet mentor and teacher to those around him. He preferred helping individuals succeed and was more concerned for his people than the company’s bottom line. From its inception in 1972, Don built the firm’s field forces, helping transform Donlar into the premier company it is today. He loved his family, his Catholic faith, and enjoyed a passion for the outdoors, including early morning walks, fishing, pontoon rides, and many other simple outdoor pleasures. The team at Donlar Construction is deeply saddened to announce Don’s passing, and we offer our deepest sympathies to the Kainz family and Don’s friends, industry peers, and the countless others that had the privilege of knowing Donald A. Kainz.
