Despite the challenges brought forth by the coronavirus, Donlar Construction has chosen to move forward with our Internship program! Donlar Construction has had an internship program each summer for 4 years now, and every year it has proven a great way to share our industry knowledge while providing hands on learning for our future project managers! This summer we have two new interns working out of our Shoreview office. We would like to welcome Ben Meyer and Nick Siler to the team.
BEN MEYER
Hometown: Lino Lakes, MN
College/University: Minnesota State University, Mankato
Major: Construction Management
Goals For this Internship: “I am hoping to get more experience on the professional business side of the construction industry rather than labored work. I want to get a good idea of what a future job as a PM, SUP, or Estimator is like. I’m still getting ahold of things as I’ve been here for two weeks and things are changing, but I’m looking forward to the new things that I will learn during the rest of the summer and my internship.”
Hobbies: “Aside from work, I love anything to do with a motor, my biggest hobby is snowmobiling. I also enjoy working on pretty much anything, currently I am restoring a 1989 jet ski. Otherwise I enjoy hanging out with my family/ friends on the weekends on the lake at a cabin.”
NICK SILER
Hometown: Lino Lakes, MN
College/University: Minnesota State University, Mankato
Major: Construction Management
Goals for this Internship: “I would also like to gain more knowledge of the construction industry in the office and out on the jobsite, to learn more about what a project manager does on a daily and weekly basis, and to gain real life experience in my area of study.”
Hobbies: “When not working I like to spend my free time at the lake.”
