The New Ulm Pastoral Center is a new 32,520 square foot, 3-story facility including offices, conference spaces and chapel, built to accommodate the pastoral needs of the diocese.
The design was instructed by a list of desires the owner required for the new facility. From the start the building was to have the look of a 160 year old building while using modern materials. Donlar’s team recommended the incorporation of the original 1960 cornerstone into the new entrance for added continuity to the new facility. Structurally, Donlar proposed using a composite deck system as opposed to precast plank in order to allow for additional flexibility and cost savings in the design process.
Donlar provided preconstruction services including budgets, value engineering and constructability analysis.
